GOOGLE BASE
Google Base has thousands and thousands of viewer’s everyday. So if your company and products is on there the more chance you have getting clicks to your website which will enhance your Google ranking. Google Base allows you to add your products and web link for free and the amount of clicks to your website and impressions on the page after the search is counted up for you – great!!
Here are your 5 easy Steps to Google base:
- To begin with you need a Google mail account, if you do not already have one click on the link below and sign up http://base.google.co.uk/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en-uk&answer=25282
- Then you will need to create a data feed in excel (Tab-delimited text file) – as we mentioned in the Yahoo! Shopper section your items will need to be in the same order and format as shown by Google base, see link for the attribute list (A product number or ean MUST be included in your product feed database list)
http://base.google.co.uk/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78170&hl=en_GB - Check your data feed look correct – here is an example of a data feed – click on the link http://base.google.co.uk/support/bin/answer.py?answer=59461&hl=en_GB
- Before you upload your data feed you need to register it with Google so they know what file type and products to expect – follow steps from link http://base.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=59542&hl=en_GB
- Next step is to upload your data feed via direct upload on Googlebase. Read the steps from the link – then Click on Get started – register your data feed

Now your products are uploaded, you can see how many clicks you have had etc., this is found on the items column, then ‘show all’.
To re upload you data feeds, just click on data feeds in your items, then manual upload.
USEFUL TIP:
Your uploads last one month BUT Google likes new information, so try to upload it once a week or more – then your products will have more chance being found in the searches.
