If you are just about to set sail on the SEO high seas and have little idea of how to navigate your new vessel, then the following pointers from the SEO LEEDS team at Deepblue-digital might prove useful for beginners of SEO navigation.

These are real beginner SEO points that you can either attempt yourself or use to query your website designers or new SEO shipmates with.

So lets take a look around your new craft.

PART 1 THE WEB DESIGN

  1. Forget about SEO forget about setting sail. Before all that, you have to get the design and build of your website shipshape and bristol fashion. Do not attempt to set sale on the SEO ocean until you have your ship looking and working correctly. The first time you allow visitors on board and they see barnacles on deck, locked cabins and no content in the galley they are going to smell a fish and you will never see them again. You do not have to spend thousands on a refit. It has to look the part, look professional and do its job. You may have heard about WEB 2.0, you may have heard about Bounce Rate you may have heard about User Interaction if not ask your web designer. Look at what other people are doing in the same industry. Look at entirely different industries and show your web designer what design you like, get him started in the right direction or he will end up charting his own course and costing you money.A professional web designer with years of experience and a good few previous web designs to show you, should steer you in the right direction and make sure your vesselĀ  floats. Ask your friends and family if they would not mind taking a tour of the new site, pick up any pointers or comments from them and make sure the designer understands and is happy to implement them. A good web designer should attempt to understand your industry and try not to force a speedboat on you when in fact you require a transport ship or a cruise liner.
