Deepblue-digital Web Design Leeds Page One

So we are back again Deepblue-digital has resurfaced after being at the depths of page 4 ranked 37 on Google for the phrase Web Design Leeds.

How this has happened we are still looking into and will let you know in due course. The only things we can comment about are the fact that prior to the Google Caffeine upgrade we had seen ourselves rising nicely through the ranks over a period of months until we actually made it to page one for about 2 weeks a couple of months ago. Then suddenly, after the Caffeine upgrade, we dropped right back to 37 a position we seemed to naturally gravitate towards.

We had been outsourcing our SEO to a London company who were as baffled as we were and could not explain. After much discussion we decided we seemed to have as much knowledge know as they did and so took on the SEO ourselves. We did a bit more link building, wrote more blog articles, sent out a weekly marketing emails fiddled with the onsite stuff like Page Title and H1 Tags, but nothing groundbreaking and nothing moved, we remained solidly at 37 for Web Design Leeds. Then, again suddenly, one day while adjusting the Title Tag I did a quick search on Google and there we were. Now I have been fooled before by this, forgetting I was logged in to Google, not clearing my cache of previous searches etc. So I did all the checks, tried different machines, asked people in different buildings and all results were positive, we were on page one, position nine and there we remain. If anyone has any insight into this phenomenon we would be interested to hear, we are looking into it ourselves. We are trying to figure out whether it was one thing or many things that culminated in our new position. Obviously we would like to know if we are going to drop of the radar again and how we might stop it.

The flip side of this though is that our work has only just begun. Our Bounce rate has increased from around 37% to over 65% so we need to figure that one out now, people are obviously coming to the site, but not liking something on there and not stopping. We need to make the site sticky and interesting, we will keep you informed.
